About

Welcome to Amber Midwifery Therapies
I’m Claire Petchey, a midwife and holistic practitioner. Amber Midwifery Therapies was created because I believe women deserve to feel supported, listened to and looked after throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period. Not simply being cared for, but genuinely being cared about. Having navigated motherhood myself and working within maternity, I understand both the profound beauty and intense physical and emotional demands of bringing new life into the world.
I believe that every mother and expectant mother deserves to feel safe, held and truly listened to. Healthcare shouldn't feel rushed or transactional. There is so much focus on the physical aspects of pregnancy, yet the emotional side can sometimes get lost amongst appointments, advice, expectations and the realities of everyday life. My approach combines my experience and knowledge as a midwife with complementary therapies, creating a space that is nurturing, realistic and grounded in clinical understanding.
I am trained, certified and endorsed by Expectancy, the leading authority in maternity complementary therapies. I am a member of the Royal College of Midwives and insured with the Royal College of Nursing. I maintain midwifery registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
It is important to me that Amber Midwifery Therapies feels warm and uplifting, as well as strong and empowering. Pregnancy and motherhood aren't always calm, glowing or effortless and I don't believe in pretending that they are. Sometimes you need reassurance, sometimes practical support, sometimes a chance to breathe and often someone to simply say “you're doing great.”
